Something's already happening

You didn't ask first. That's fine — start here.

Most people find me because something already went wrong. There's no lecture coming. Let's contain it, handle it properly, and then talk about how to see the next one coming.

What I can take off your hands

Workplace investigations

Harassment, discrimination, retaliation, or misconduct allegations investigated properly — scoped, documented, and defensible. A badly run investigation creates evidence against you, so this is not a place to improvise.

$2,800–12,000, or hourly

Terminations you need to get right

Documentation review, timing, severance considerations, the script for the conversation, and what to do in the 48 hours afterward.

$1,000–2,800 per event

Reductions in force

Selection criteria that hold up, disparate impact analysis, notice obligations, communication planning, and execution support.

$4,000–32,000

Agency charges

Support responding to an EEOC or state civil rights charge, or a wage claim. I work alongside your counsel, gathering facts and building the response record.

$2,400–8,000

Accommodation disputes

An employee requested something, the conversation stalled, and now there's a deadline you can feel. Interactive process, documented properly, starting now.

$2,000–4,800

Same-week advisory

Sometimes you just need a competent person on the phone within a few hours. Hourly, no retainer required.

$220–320/hour

Before we talk, do these four things

This is free advice and it applies whether or not you hire me.

  • Don't act yet. The instinct to resolve it today is what turns a manageable problem into a claim. Almost nothing genuinely has to be decided in the next two hours.
  • Preserve everything. Emails, messages, files, schedules, notes. Stop any automatic deletion. Destroyed records look far worse than whatever they contained.
  • Stop discussing it broadly. Limit the conversation to people who genuinely need to be in it. Every extra person is a potential witness.
  • Write down the timeline while it's fresh. Dates, who said what, who knew when. Facts, not conclusions or opinions about anyone's character.

If there's an immediate safety concern, a threat of violence, or a deadline in the next 24 hours, call rather than emailing: 786-570-0972. Say it's urgent and I'll get back to you within four business hours.

Questions people ask

Do I need a lawyer instead of you?

Sometimes, and I'll tell you plainly when the answer is yes. For a lot of situations you need both — someone to do the factual and procedural work well, and counsel for the legal judgment. Doing the first part properly makes the second part much cheaper.

Is what I tell you privileged?

No. I'm not your attorney, so attorney-client privilege doesn't apply to our conversations. If privilege matters — and for a serious investigation it often does — your counsel should engage me at their direction. I'll raise that before we start rather than after.

Can you start this week?

Usually yes. Advisory and termination support can start immediately, and for larger or time-critical work I bring in additional people from my bench so your timeline isn't limited by one person's calendar. I'll confirm on the first call what's realistic, and if we can't do it well on your timeline I'll say so rather than take the work.

How much will this cost?

I'll give you a fixed fee or a capped range after one conversation. I don't do open-ended hourly on urgent work without a cap — you have enough uncertainty already.

Not sure where you stand?

A free 30-minute risk review. You describe what's going on, I name the two or three things I'd fix first. No pitch deck, no obligation.
